We are on the threshold of a new era — the era of combat drone simulators. Ukraine was the first to use FPV drones as an effective asymmetric response to aggression. This introduces a new type of player: one who no longer carries a rifle or sits in a vehicle cockpit, but instead controls robotic units. These robots carry weapons and supplies, conduct reconnaissance and interception, and some even perform evacuations (NPC-controlled).
Key points:
The player takes on a new role within typical game design trends.
The simulator combines a classic first-person shooter mode with RTS-style resource management.
Instead of facing physical risk on the battlefield, players manage risk distribution and responsibility zones within a team.
The Extraction Shooter trend is reflected in real tactical processes such as rotation and evacuation in the Unmanned Systems Forces.
