Talk recording: The use of UAVs in modern warfare based on real combat experience of the 130th Territorial Defense Battalion

What the talk is about

A talk on how technology, above all drones, has changed modern warfare, given by a soldier who commands an aerial reconnaissance squad in the 130th Territorial Defence battalion and trains new pilots. He explains that training now starts on simulators: a newcomer has to log dozens of hours in a virtual environment with weather and interference before moving to real drones on a training ground. A pilot in such a unit is also a technician and an all-round soldier, so training goes well beyond flying. He also covers AI in drones, such as returning home without GPS and assistance in the final phase of flight, while the main control stays with the human pilot. He answers questions about women in drone units and invites specialists, including programmers, to join. Useful for seeing where game development skills are needed right now.
