What the talk is about
Pontus Mähler of the investor-accelerator Global Top Round explains how their program works and how to prepare a pitch for investors and publishers. The company backs only studios with a playable build (no prototypes or GDDs), runs a selection leading to an offline conference with a seven-minute pitch, and helps with business plans, funding rounds and publisher talks. For the pitch he advises: 10–12 slides for a first meeting; an honest team story even without big-name backgrounds; a narrowed target market with a clear reason why that share of players will buy the game; budget, funding needs, forecasts and a long-term plan; and building a community early around one main platform. He also warns against signing a global license without vetting the publisher's regional partners. Useful for indie teams seeking funding.
