The Song of Consoles and Arcades — 45 Minutes from a Lecture at a Kyiv University

This lecture covers the birth, collapse, and revival of the video game industry in the 20th century. From the first experiments to the games that built the empires of Atari, Nintendo, Namco, and Taito.
We will explore how a mass culture around games emerged, what led to the crash of the American video game market in 1983, and how Nintendo managed to revive the industry from the ashes.
