Steve Bromley

Steve Bromley is a games user researcher and founder of gamesuserresearch.com. As a consultant, he helps publishers, platforms and studios of all sizes use player insight, combine player data with creativity and build a product strategy. He works from ideation to post-launch to de-risk game development. He has over a decade in the industry, five years of it at PlayStation as a senior user researcher, where he worked on many of the company's top European titles, including Horizon Zero Dawn, SingStar, the LittleBigPlanet series and the PlayStation VR lineup. He started the Games User Research mentoring scheme, which has linked hundreds of students with professionals from companies such as Sony, EA, Valve, Ubisoft and Microsoft. He wrote the book How To Be A Games User Researcher and is a recognised member of BAFTA. At Games Gathering 2024 in Lviv, he spoke about confident game development: integrating player insight throughout development and focusing on what really matters.
