What the talk is about
Andre Cohen, head of data science at the publisher Tilting Point, argues that "big data" in mobile games is not about terabytes of events but about connecting smaller pieces of data into one valuable picture. He walks through the publisher's view of the full player journey: player and live-ops data, platform data, ASO, user acquisition and market intelligence. His key point is that these layers should be linked all the way down to the player level, which takes solid data engineering: many daily data pulls from different providers merged into one shared warehouse. He also covers daily predictive LTV by segment, automated bidding and ad creative variants, and market insights for choosing which games to pursue. He advises collecting data selectively for each experiment. Useful for developers, publishers and marketers.
