What the talk is about
Hendrik Lesser talks about how to build your own game studio and keep it alive for 15 years and more, including 2020. He suggests starting with the question of why you do this, for yourself and your team, and deriving the studio's vision and big ambitious goals from it, which inspire people and support employer branding. Daily work can be broken into small "quests" using objectives and key results over up to three months, treating failures as experience. A leader should act like a captain, take responsibility for people and the company, and work as part of a team rather than alone. He also stresses understanding the market and trends, knowing your own numbers and taxes, and building later games on the first. Useful for studio founders and leaders.
