VR and Blender Sculpting

What the talk is about
Jama Jurabaev describes a year of learning sculpting. Early in the year he set client projects aside to study something he never had time for. His goal is not ZBrush-level sculpts but dynamic 3D sketches. He uses displacement-based shaders that imitate plasticine, which signals right away that a piece is a sketch rather than a final model. He explains how he picked tools: he mapped out approaches (poly modeling, sculpting, a mix of 2D and 3D) and settled on Blender and VR because they overlap with his needs. In Blender he demonstrates Quick Shape, an add-on for drawing forms quickly, and in VR he shows fast sculpting of dynamic poses. In the Q&A he covers building a portfolio to move from games to film, and learning through small projects rather than random tutorials. Useful for concept artists and 3D artists.
