What the talk is about
Johan Toresson, who runs scouting at the publisher Raw Fury, explains what he needs from an indie game pitch. First, a playable PC build that shows the essence of the game, ideally with skippable cutscenes and intros, checkpoints or scene selection, and a description of the controls. Second, a budget, at minimum the number of months to a gold master and the monthly development cost, without marketing or ports. Third, a deck answering six questions: what you are making, why, who you are, where you want to go, what you need and when you expect to be done. Extras like GIFs, concept art, videos or a GDD help further. He also describes the internal review process and what "magic" means to him: games people will still talk about in 20 years. Useful for indie teams preparing a publisher pitch.
