What the talk is about
MJ Fahmi explains why game developers need strong publishers. After one or two years of development with no revenue, studios often rush to launch, lack money for user acquisition and make poor decisions. A good publisher brings infrastructure: analytics to find problems in the game, tools against fraudulent traffic, support, social media and localization teams, cultural adaptation, store creatives and industry connections. He stresses that organic traffic and featuring are no longer enough and install costs keep rising. In the Q&A he covers deal terms (revenue share roughly 70/30 after platform cut, profit share around 50/50), seasonal events such as Ramadan, why he distrusts marketing-only funding, and what to do if a publisher fails to spend on marketing. Useful for indie and mid-size studios choosing between self-publishing and a publisher.
