What the talk is about

Yevhenii Krasykov, an Amazon Web Services architect, gives an overview of how game companies use the AWS cloud. First, the higher the service level (managed and serverless), the more infrastructure work the provider takes on, and with serverless you pay for usage, so the same architecture grows with the load. Second, game servers are the most expensive part of the infrastructure; they need multiple regions, autoscaling, the managed GameLift service and cheap spot capacity with a low interruption risk. Third, meta-game backends and analytics, both real-time and batch, are assembled from ready-made service building blocks rather than one boxed solution. He also covers CDN, Global Accelerator for lower latency, build pipelines, rendering and startup support programs. Useful for tech leads, backend developers and those responsible for technical strategy and budget.
