What the talk is about
Yuliia K. shares her personal experience of making the indie game Frosted without funding. Her seven-person team came into game development from other fields at a mature age, and she argues there is no age limit if you are motivated. Her advice: network at conferences, don't fear showing your project and getting feedback, write at least basic documentation and a roadmap, find teammates through social networks and chats, and start building a community early. Team motivation comes from belief in the project, a portfolio piece for every role, convenient tools (Discord, Confluence, Trello, Telegram) and positive community response. Treat haters calmly, reply only to constructive criticism, and always thank people for their opinion. Useful for newcomers and small indie teams.
