Art, and therefore the metaverse, is about the experience and ability to connect with people. As it is becoming more and more apparent that experiences will store the most value over time, a platform encompassing 3D, one-of-one, and dynamic access to these elements will be indispensable to creators. Mona is committed to building a platform that builds worlds, not walls, in the metaverse. It is Mona’s mission of giving more power to creators across the Web3 that represent a fundamental shift in the future of metaverse world-building technology.
What the talk is about
Justin Melillo presents Mona, a web platform for building, minting and selling virtual worlds as NFTs. He argues that 3D creators are held back by costly land parcels and artificial scarcity on other metaverse platforms, whereas Mona is free and runs in the browser with no login, wallet or download. He shows community-made worlds: interactive scenes, galleries, concert venues, spatial audio, multiplayer and token-gated areas. He then demos the pipeline: export FBX files from familiar 3D tools, bring them into a Unity template, test instantly in the browser, and mint. He also covers monthly build contests with prizes, perpetual royalties for creators, and a planned VR app. In Q&A he advises Web3 newcomers to read guides, follow artists and reach out to them. Useful for 3D artists, game designers and architects who want to monetize their work.
