From Reality to the Metaverse and Back

What the talk is about

Jama Jurabaev explains how his team helps people who have imagination but lack 3D skills, budget or a crew to build their own worlds for the metaverse. They make ready-to-use 3D asset packs: post-apocalyptic, Wild West and robot sets. For realism, the team photographs references and scans objects and people; on stage the speaker demonstrated 3D scanners. His examples range from a well-known NFT creator and professional studios to a director who made an animated short almost alone in a few weeks from these assets. He also showed building a robot from parts in VR starting from a sketch, printing models that work both in VR and in the real world, and praised the Ukrainian tool 3D-Coat. He expects world creation to become more automated and digital and traditional art to coexist. Useful for 3D artists, indie creators and anyone curious about the metaverse and NFTs.
