What the talk is about
Kyrylo Rozbeiko explains how the R&D team at Ubisoft's Ukrainian studio automates AAA game testing with a black box approach: the tools imitate a player and never touch the game code, so they don't affect performance or stability and can even test release builds. The first tool, Python Test Framework, emulates keyboard and mouse, recognizes images and text with OpenCV and Tesseract, and covers dozens of test types. The second, QC Farm, uses existing QC department computers overnight: it deploys a build, runs tests, collects reports and cleans everything up afterwards. To deliver very large builds quickly, the team built its own peer-to-peer data transfer tool. He also shares plans: machine learning, Jira integration and CI/CD. Useful for QA engineers, test automation specialists and production teams on large projects.
