What the talk is about
Oleh Malamuzh presents the deconstruction method: on long projects you can't win by simply chasing leaders, so you study how competitors work. Using an animated Spider-Man film as an example, he shows how experiments with color, 2D principles in 3D, editing and humor widened the audience and opened a new niche. He advises breaking down others' material: storyboards, shot sizes, silhouettes, composition, color logic, shot durations, plus work-in-progress and sketch history. This helps you grasp the leaders' thinking, forecast the market and find empty spots where you can be first at lower cost. He also stresses studying your audience through focus groups. Useful for animators, directors, producers and game designers looking for their own niche.
