Why does a GameDev company need HR?
Tetiana Yevdokymenko
What the talk is about
Tetiana Yevdokymenko explains why a game development company needs HR and recruiting as real systems, not just someone who organizes parties and answers job applications. Recruiting covers planning headcount, sourcing, test tasks, interviews, and care for candidates and the company's image. HR then guides a person through onboarding and adaptation, goals, training, evaluation, motivation, retention and a proper exit. The foundation is company values, strategy, structure and business processes. She gives guidance on when HR is needed: usually not for an indie team, with solid processes a company of up to 50 can manage without a specialist, and beyond 50 one is needed. She also recommends no more than three interview stages. Useful for founders, managers and recruiters.
