What the talk is about
Yevhen Rudiev describes how Game Point, a company making multiplayer social casino games on Unity3D, built its own UI test automation framework. Ready-made options were rejected: Unity Test Runner cannot emulate user behavior, tests written inside the game code risk breaking it, and screenshot comparison is slow and unstable. The idea comes from Selenium WebDriver: a separate driver inside the Unity editor accepts commands on a background thread, and the main thread executes them via a queue, covering GameObject lookup, clicks, text input and checks. Readable wrappers and Screen objects, modeled on Page Object, keep tests simple. He also shares tips: screenshots and logs for failed tests, headless mode, and running several editors in parallel. He presents his own open-source framework as well. Useful for QA automation engineers and Unity developers.
