What the talk is about

Andrii Sydorenko uses a casual mobile character to walk through the full cycle, from a black-and-white concept to integration in Unity. His main point is that artists should test their own work in the engine, because the result in the editor always differs from the game (camera, color correction, outline shader), and they shouldn't leave errors for others to find. He covers the shader, how much model detail is enough, and simple idle, walk, attack and death loops, then explains setting up clips, an avatar and an animator controller in Unity. He recommends learning the 12 principles of animation, anatomy and rigging basics. In the Q&A he covers timing (about a week per character), why one artist can cover many roles in mobile games, and the value of initiative and asking experienced colleagues. Useful for 3D artists and animators aiming for mid or senior level.
