What the talk is about

Aleks Martynenko shows how to use Unreal Engine for cinematics, drawing on his background in television, film and post-production. He walks through tools for assembling scenes fast: landscapes with automatic LODs, scattering grass and rocks with shader-driven animation, crowds of thousands of characters painted with a brush, the Quixel library and Mixer. He then covers Sequencer, camera shake, Niagara, volumetric fog, color correction, depth of field, render passes and console commands for quality. His main point is that real time cuts rendering from days to minutes. In the Q&A he suggests about a month to learn the basics and three to four months to work confidently without Blueprints. Useful for 3D artists and motion designers moving to Unreal.
