What the talk is about
Olga Ryzhko shares her experience of growing reach and revenue for PC and console games, even when working with a publisher. Key points: study stores, platforms and their documentation continuously, and approach them yourself with proposals, since their support teams cannot cover everyone. Think about the business model during development: multiple editions (base, deluxe) sell well, while standalone DLC brings little income. Extra revenue comes from localization, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Turkish, and from regional pricing. Most income arrives during discounts, so plan a sales calendar for at least a year after launch, avoiding discounts that are too early or erratic. Later, consider bundles, subscriptions and other alternative channels. Useful for indie developers and small studios handling their own sales.
