With every new Google rule, it's becoming more common to get banned, have a game/app removed, or even lose a developer account. We'll talk about what to pay attention to when publishing a project on Play so that it passes moderation, as well as how to solve typical problems related to this process.
What the talk is about
Viktor Kozlovets explains how to avoid losing a game on Google Play, drawing on his indie studio's experience and on publishing arbitrage apps. He distinguishes rejection, removal, a game ban and an account ban (the last is almost impossible to reverse). The main causes of trouble are other brands and keywords in the description, inaccurate Data Safety answers, content and art that don't match the declared age rating (art can be checked with Google Vision), identical assets and code across several games, incentivizing player ratings, and sensitive ad categories not blocked in every ad network. He recommends code obfuscation, and writing to support calmly, without aggression, while showing readiness to fix issues. Useful for indie developers and teams publishing games on Google Play.
