What the talk is about
Evgeniy Derkach explains how to build an advanced Spine rig for 2D characters so they look three-dimensional and client revisions don't mean redoing the animation. The core idea is to tie everything to a few 3D controllers (separate ones for body and head) combined with Transform Constraints, which move the imagined back part of the art in the opposite direction and deepen the sense of depth. He covers hand-painting weights, why bone hierarchy matters, helper bones at seams, and controllers for eyes, eyelids, cheeks and effects. He also shares ways to shrink atlases with a separate black-and-alpha texture, remove unneeded vertices, and reuse atlases and sequences. The example rig took about a day to build and saves time later. Useful for animators and technical artists working with Spine.
