What the talk is about

Jama Jurabaev gives a live demo of drawing in 3D inside VR and argues that this technology will spread, because 2D artists can work in a familiar way and immediately get 3D output. He warns against expecting a replacement for Maya or 3D Max: while the technology is still young, it is best used for sketches and quick ideas. He starts with simple mannequins, poses them fast, and builds short stories and storyboards, then adds detail to scenes. He shows layers, importing ready-made models and breaking them into parts, mixing 2D and 3D, textures, a camera for choosing angles, and exporting frames. He also demonstrates an asset library for quickly swapping primitive shapes for more realistic objects. Useful for concept artists, storyboard artists and anyone curious about VR tools for rapid scene prototyping.
