WHAT IS IT?
Games Gathering 2023 Kyiv was a game development conference held from 3 to 6 August 2023 in Kyiv, at the Premier Hotel Rus. The first day, 3 August, was online only. The days of 5 and 6 August were held in a combined Online + Live format.
The programme included 70 talks, 66 of them with video, across four halls per day: Fire Hall, Water Hall, Air Hall and Earth Hall. The tracks covered business, game design, production, marketing (Earth Hall, by Google Camp), art, indie and mixed topics.
Among the talks were Charly Harbord and Tim Cullings of Global Game Jam on “Why Game Jams?”, Kate Edwards on building creator values under geopolitical pressure, and Ruslan Didenko’s postmortem of Survarium. Artem Mashchenko of 4A Games spoke about the philosophy of UI in the Metro series.
